I searched UK pages only for: "The Listener" magazine "home page". I submitted the following to "Help us improve". 66 There is a magazine in the UK called The Listener, which has probably been in print now since before I was born, which was in 1953. I though I'd crafted a foolproof query that would have returned the home page of that magazine's website early in the search results, provided I searched UK pages only. Alas, not so. Could you go the second mile for me, and email me the URL of the website of The Listener magazine, at John_W_Allman@Hotmail.com? Thanks. 99 Res ipsa loquitur. |

Hi johnallman, This could be the website you are looking for: http://www.thelistener.co.uk However, there are many errors on the page, with the last update being July 23, 2004. Also when clicking on the articles on the home page, the page cannot be displayed. If this is the site you are looking for, let me know and I will post this as an answer. Best regards, Rainbow |

Is this the magazine you are looking for? "The Listener magazine was founded by the BBC in 1929 as a review of radio programmes." "Towards the end of the 80s dwindling sales made The Listener an economic liability, and although for a short time it was published on glossy paper, it was to fold in 1991." http://home.freeuk.net/dharrison/puzzles/listen.htm |

FAO fp-ga: So, horror of horrors, back in 1991, The Listener went the way of The Origami Gazatte, did it? Wow! Next you'll be telling me that the Queen Mother is dead. Please claim the money, fp-ga. Thanks also to others who commented. |

Thank you, johnallman-ga, for offering me the money. However, I am not a Google Answers Researcher (otherwise my name would be clickable). By the way, in my previous comment I forgot to mention these two links (they should lead you to the pdf-files I mentioned): http://www.bbc.co.uk/heritage/story/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/heritage/resources/books.shtml |
