i believe the responses to HDL are misleading, and potentially counterproductive. The answers do not appear to be based on thorough reading of the scientific literature. Visit essentialfats.com to read scientific articles. Also read abstracts at FASEB (fed experimental biologists), 2004 for the most significant factors affecting total cholesterol and HDL. The issues are quite complex. There is a gigantic difference between FACTOR A influences HDL and FACTOR A influences HDL in a substantial biological significant way. One must be careful about research reported in scientific journals that fails to explain how much HDL increases and what important variables were omitted. Suppose estudy shows FACTOR B increases HDL. If an important variable is omitted, then when that variable is considered, it may be that factor B decreases HDL. My research indicates that the foods show do not increase HDL. To increase HDL I propose that people eat a diet high in cells appropriate for human consumption, eat enough nutrients, and be slim. Eating calories from foods without cells is, in my opinion, not likely to increase HDL and lead to a reduction of heart disease. |

Hi ed500-ga! Thank you for your helpful comments and suggestions. It certainly was of great help to us. Researchers like me however tries to find what is out there to answer the question of the customer. We base our answers on the opinions, researches of different individuals and entities that have published their findings. They may have differing options just like the one you presented here but sometimes they agree as can be seen from some of my sources. Anyway we must presnt both sides of the equation even if we find some disagreements so as to help the customer. I wasn't able to find much disagreement in the course of my research. So in this case your comments were really helpful. Thank You. |
