I admire folk art paintings such as those from Mose Tolliver. I would like to make a painting on wood that I can hang outside in the backyard - so the painting will be exposed to all elements of the weather. What kind of wood board and, more importantly, what time of paint can be used for such outdoor folk art painting? Finally - are there 2-3 well-known female painters/folk artists who use wood to paint on? Thank you! |

Hi, kyraeh Wood might not be very porous and oil is better than acrylic for outdoors. These sites are from well known female folk artists that paint on wood: Norma Lane: http://lanenorm.bizhosting.com/painting1.htm Tricia Stanson: http://www.triciastanson.com Mary Klein: http://www.marykleinart.com/availableart.html Luntes |
