When I run the google link query for link:www.citywesthotel.com
if turns up 2 incoming links when the real number is 100 + 
I hae checked this on www.bruceclay.com and it turns up the real link quantity,

why is google not picking up these links or what I have I done wrong ??

This is not only Google - Hotbot and AltaVista report similar
backlinks. I could only assume, that the majority of those 100+ links
were "search engine spamming" and not genuine links, but link farms or
similar spammers. Are you sure that you have 100+ "genuine" links?
