related to what you listed in your question. I am providing a brief
except from each one with relevant information.
There are an estimated 1.5 billion Mobile phone users worldwide.
?A recent study by EMC finds that there are now 1.5 billion mobile
phone users worldwide, and, though the rate of increase is tapering
off, they estimate that the number will reach 2 billion as soon as
July 2006. Though many European countries have already reached the
saturation point, new markets such as China and Brazil promise to be
enthusiastic adopters of mobile phones for many years to come.?

The next few years are predicted to see phenomenal growth in the
number of Internet-enabled devices.
?According to primary IDC research, the number of business wireless
Internet users in the United States alone will grow from 2.6 million
in 2000 to more than 49 million in 2005.?
(..)
?There are a large variety of devices that fit under the broad
classification of wireless mobile. At one extreme pagers and phones
capable of sending and receiving text messages provide a primitive
level of wireless mobile capability. At the higher end, advanced
wireless PDAs, such as the Pocket PC, with full computing capabilities
replace many of the functions of traditional PCs.?
?There is substantial market research covering these types of devices,
all indicating strong growth. ?
For example:
- 84 million people in the United States will plug into wireless
Internet by 2005 (IDC)
- 35 million handheld devices by 2003 (IDC)
- 350 million "Smart" phones and handheld Internet devices by 2003 (Datacomm)
- 1.1 billion wireless subscribers by 2003 (IDC)

CMP Media provides statistics regarding wireless hotspots.:
?From 2005 to 2007, the build-out will pick up again in the US,
reaching 530,000 hotspots, as Wi-Fi enabled notebook PCs gain in
number. In Europe, there should be almost 800,000 by 2007. In Asia,
where some public places are still offering free access, there will be
more than 1 million hotspots by then. An optimistic estimate has Asia
littered with more than 4 million hot spots by that year.?

WIFI Hotspots
In the United States there will be a steady growth in hotspots and by
2007 there will be some 530,000 hotspots in the U.S.
?In Europe almost 800,000 hotspots will be installed by 2007, while in
Asia, by even the most pessimistic estimates, there will be over 1
million hotspots by 2007. A more optimistic estimate places that
figure at almost 4 million by that year.?
?The report estimates the mean for hotspots in the U.S. to be about
190 sessions per year, with a disproportionate share going to business
hotels and major airports. In 2007, the report predicts some 4 billion
sessions for the U.S. The U.S. usage revenue for 2007 is projected to
be $8 billion, or about $15,000 per hotspot.?
