I have found someone who has Mr. Evangelista's signature in Uruguay :)
His name is José Pedro Charlo Filipovich, and you can write him to

Mr. Charlo Filipovich is the producer and co-writer of the documentary
named
"Bichuchi, la vida de Alfredo Evangelista", directed by Aldo Garay,
about the boxer's life. The film was roaded in 1997 in the Spanish
jail of Carabanchel.
He asked me to tell you that they have a lot of material that may be
of interest for your project: Mr. Evangelista speaking about the fight
against Ali and much more. He is willing to send you a VHS copy.
Finally, what you wanted: he has many signatures from Mr.Evangelista:
in the contract, as well as autographed pictures.
Mr. Charlo Filipovich is trying to find Mr. Evangelista's actual
address in Madrid.

PS: I'm dying to find Mr.Lavorante's, but, believe me, it is very
difficult.

have sent Mr. filipovitch an email and hope to hear from him shortly-
it would seem that as far as the Evangelista autograph Mr. Filipovitch
is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow-will keep you updated as

Dear lrargerich- Thanks for your recent follow up on the Ali project-
I have been in contact with Mr. Filipovich relative to obtaining
Alfredo Evangelista's autograph- unfotunately Mr. Filipovich is
holding me hostage, so to speak, wanting in the vicinity of $1500.00
for a single autograph-much more than I can afford & much more than
the signature is really worth-If you have any other sources or know
how we might touch base with Alfredo directly please be kind enough to

I'm so sorry you and Mr. Charlo Filipovich could not make the deal. I
though it was a win-win one.
I think Mr. Evangelista is living in Madrid now, but I could not find
him at the Telefonica's book though ( http://www.telefonica.es/ ) .
If you know that he colaborates with Canal+ ( http://www.plus.es ) ,
which sounds reasonable since he is living in Madrid, why don't you
write them asking for contact information?

Although I think you can write them in English, I've wrote a brief
letter in Spanish, just in case you need it.

Why don't you call Canal+, ask for the Sports dept. ("Sección de
deportes" or "seccion deportiva") and then ask the editor for
Evangelista´s contact information. I think that you don't have to say
you are looking for the autograph, you may just tell them that you are
doing a research and you need to contact Mr.Evangelista.
You know, when money is involved, each person you speak to might have
his own interest. Academic, journalistic or artistic reasons can be,
sometimes, helpful.
I have conection problems now to use the online Telefonica´s book in
order to give you the Canal Plus telephone number. You can search
through the Spanish yellow pages at

Plus or Canal+).

Dear Lrarerich-Thanks for the suggestion- I have tried calling Canal+
at 011-34 91 396-5500 but even with a Spanish speaking friend have not
been able to reach Mr. Evangelista-tried locating a different number
in the telephone book you suggested but its in Spanish and I'm lost
without my Spanish speaking friend- if you should locate a telephone
number please be kind enough to advise.Again I appreciate all your
