I heard there were place sto get it for $400, but that might have been
a protion price.  Is the price basicly standardized at around $1000?

Yes, v3.6 is the lastest version and there doesn't appear to be any catch.

Look at the entries titled: BlackBerry Enterprise Server v3.6 w/5 Licenses

A clearance outfit named HOBI International, Inc. has some BES packages for
a "Buy It Now" price of $500.00 plus $50.00 shipping and handling.

Note that they are an eBay "Power Seller" with some 550+ feedbacks with a
99.8% positive feedback, so they do not appear to be some "fly-by-night"
outfit.
