hi! I used to play 'Dune: Battle for Arrakis' published by 'Virgin Interactive' on my Sega console many years ago. I really miss it and wanted to see if you know where I could download the same old game perhaps turned into its PC version. (or through an emulator perhaps) Please note that this game is different from the originially-for-PC 'Dune 2: Battle for Arrakis', and that the game was made some time around 1992 or 1993. Thank you! |

"The planet arrakis known as dune" Great grand-daddy of RTS, its actually Dune 2 on the PC (Dune was nothing like Dune 2) You can get it here: http://www.flashback-aw.net/games.php?GameID=38 if you google: dune 2 abandonware youll find it that way too |

Thanks jw239, but as you said this game is Dune 2, not Dune. I've already downloaded Dune 2 but the graphic resolution is much lower than Dune and it's not really as much fun. Interesting how there's really no place on the web for downloading the good old Dune game... Please help out... Thank you. |

Still not the same Dune, but here goes some screen shots...

Thanks for everyone who tried to help. It's just amazing how many different versions of dune are out there and that everyone who sent a response referred to a different version. I did some Google image search to find some screen shots of the game I originally had in mind so you would know exactly which Dune I'm talking about. Also, (my bad) the year the game was published is 1994 not '93. The link to some screen shots: http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/genesis/b/dune.htm I'm pretty sure you'll all love "this" Dune a lot more than other versions. Thank you again everyone! |

Actually, I thought each emulator has it's own ROM file format, but it seems like they're all the same. I went to coolrom.com for Aladdin, Sonic, and Desert Strike. God bless them it was painless and free (unlike other rom sites) |
