I need to know if it is possible to recover files encrypted in Windows XP when the operating system has been reinstalled. Here is my situation: my PC has two hard drives: one that contains the operating system and programs and the other containing all my documents. Some of the folders on the second hard drive are encrypted using EFS in Windows XP. On the first hard drive I previously had Windows XP Home Edition installed. I formatted that drive and installed Windows XP Professional. Now I am unable to access the files in the encrypted folders on the second hard drive. How do I recover these folders without purchasing more software (if this is possible)? Will tip generously for an answer that fixes my problem. |
