Urgent: For Florida relief
The relief coordination effort is running into snags when matching
equipment donations against equipment needs in the stricken counties.
What they need is a categorization for the products. It needs to be
general but it needs to take into account most of the stuff that gets
donated. It's rumored that the Seventh Day Adventists have a pretty
good categorization, but I can't find it online. The
labs.google.com/sets comes close if we actually had time to build the
categories ourselves. But we don't. We've tried calling google but
get lost in the phone system. Examples: people have tractors that
can be used, but the right kinds of tractors aren't being matched
correctly. We need to cover common goods exchanged/gifted in
emergencies, such as clothing, vehicles, foodstuffs, machinery and
powertools, etc. etc. We have the matching technologies, just not the
categories. This is urgent- as in, we need something in the next 12
hours if possible so we can program it into our system. I'm not sure
at this point how to fund this question, but the answer is worthless
anyway if it's not answered within the next little while :) I'll
continue looking for other sources, but if this comes through, it
would be great.
Thank you in advance!
