I would like to know the physical size of the shipping crates used in
transporting gold coins {preferably $20 & $10 gold eagles] from either
the bank in New York or from the US Mint. I'm trying to determine how
many coins the crates can hold. The crates can't be to large as the
weight would be unmanageable to be loaded by two men. Inside
measurements would realy be helpful. Any information you can get me
regarding size of crate, Standard procedures for shipping, markings
and identification on the boxes would be helpful. I have other
questions but I'll submit those as a seperate question and research
fee. This is in regard to the gold carried by the SS Republic which
sank off the Georgia coast on 10-25-1865.
