The cannabis traffic is much more is extended that the heroin or
cocaine. In 1996 1,376 tons of cannabis plants, 2,524 tons of
cannabis (marijuana) and 813 tons of cannabis resin were seized
(hashish), altogether more than 4,700 tons of cannabis products, much
more that 315 tons of cocaine or the 28 tons of heroin seized that
year. The hashish seizures have increased in years 90, and in 1996
they were the double of the seized amount a decade before, but the
marijuana seizures lowered in second half of the decade of 1980 and
maintained the lowest level in years 90.
