Hi Osofu ~

There are a lot of submission services which offer to submit your site
to "thousands" of search engines - but in reality, there are only a
handful of sites that are used regularly by the majority of people
searching on the Internet.

Below are some of the other top search engines (as determined by
Nielsen Net Ratings):

* DMOZ (The Open Source Directory) -

I would suggest you start with "religion", here, and
continue digging down til you find the right category
     for your site.
     Society: Religion and Spirituality
     - http://dmoz.org/Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/

 * All The Web -

 * Hotbot & Lycos InSite (requires registration)

 * Yahoo! -
The Yahoo Directory's registry is here:

Site submission for Yahoo's search engine (which requires
     registration) engine is here:

In addition, Netscape's search is "enhanced by Google" so you may want
to check their search to see if you are included under the search
queries you wish to be found.

There are also many directories of churches which you can link your
church to ... such as the Baltimore Mariner's Guide, which lists
churches and might be useful. The list of Baltimore Churches in the
Mariner's Guide can be found here:

Or you might want to add your listing to the USA Church directory,
which has a breakdown by cities:

Lastly, you may wish to search Google for those terms under which you
want YOUR site to be found and find sites or listings that make the
addition of a link to your site a natural, relevant addition to their
own site.

Pay special attention NOT to join a directory or get links to your
site merely for the purpose of adding links; but rather, ask sites
that would make sense having your church added to their links. Each
link from another *relevant* site helps your own.

Sensible links and time will help get your site listed in search
engines and directories. It does take time to add a site, and it
usually doesn't happen overnight.

As you become more familiar with what is available on the Internet, I
know you will find other places in which it should be listed.

Warm regards,

Serenata
