I would like to find out the following about Lupron:
I downloaded a webside about Lupron, a drug which my doctor injected
for prostate cancer, after which I had severe backache and hot
flashes. The webside title is "Be careful of lupron for Endometiosis,
It could be the kiss of death" by Dr. Mercola at
http:/www.mercola.com/feb/9/lupron.htm. The information sounds
questionable. Attempting to access one of the links about lupron and
prostate cancer caused Norton internet security to appear with the
message that they stopped somebody from invading my computer and
giving me the choice if I want more information and "no", "no" being
the recommended option. I chose to request more information whereupon
a screen came up with the requested information on the link of lupron.
My questions are:
1. Is there any truthfulness to the claim that lupron is so dangerous
and on what basis did Norton block this information. Obviously they
are not the medical expert to decide what treatment is appropriate and
what not. That should be left to me and my doctor.
2. Does anybody know anything about this Dr. Mrecola?
3. Does Lupron have any advantages over other testosterone-blocking
drugs in the fight of prostate cancer?
4. Is backache and/or hot flashes one of the side reactions of lupron?
5.How can hot flashes and backache cause by lupron be combatted?
6 Will combatting backache and\or hot flashes nullify the benefits of
lupron in its fight of prostate cancer?

This will answer a lot of your questions.

http://www.lupron.com/prostate/AboutLupronDepot.asp

There are many different drugs to fight prostate cancer but virtually
all of them are anti-androgenic. Your mileage may vary. I doubt
anyone at Google answers will give you hard and fast information about
the various prostate cancer medications and which might be better for
you. They are not doctors and have not reviewed your records.
Depending on the type of cancer you have, compounds like Casodex, and
Anandron, and Flutamide, may or may not provide you benefit over
Lupron. You should ask your doctor and research the various other
treatment options.

There are many drugs, that despite helping millions of people, come
with sometimes serious side effects in a small portion of patients
using the drugs. Not all drugs work for all people. Part of life.
Sometimes people get grumpy and sue.

Best of Luck.

BTW, I am not a medical doctor. I am a blithering moron who has
nothing better to do but post inane remarks on google answers. You
should discuss and verify everything I wrote with a sane, and
certified medical professional.
