I am using Powerpoint to make a presentation containing many different
video clips. Everything works fine on my laptop, but when I play the
presentation hooked up to the projector a few of the vido clips do not
project onto the screen at all. Everything is working perfectly on the
laptop when this happens, and I can see the video on the laptop, but
on the screen there is just a black box in the area where the video
should be projecting. Is this a memory problem? It doesn't appear that
it would be a memory problem on the laptop since it is displaying
fine. I do not even know if projectors have their own memory - I just
got the projector and assumed, apparently incorrectly, that whatever
was displayed on the compter screen would be displyed on the
screen...but this isn't happening. Please ask me the relevant
questions re settings etc. The projector is a BenQ 7200. The laptop
a Compaq Presario R3000 with ATI video, Windows XP,

It sounds as if the computer that is playing the video files doesn't
have the right codec
(http://www.xilinx.com/publications/glossary.htm#C)installed. That
may be causing the video to be viewed as a black box. Also the video
card maybe out dated or can't handle the size of the videos.

I have a few questions for you, what type of video files are you
playing? How big are they? What are the specs. of the computer thats
playing the files?

If you have any questions go ahead and ask, i'll be more than happy to help.

If the computer didn't have the codec it wouldn't be displaying on the
computer screen, would it? It's displaying fine on the laptop screen,
but for some reason doesn't transfer to the projector. All other
images and videos reflect on the projection screen just as they do on
the laptop screen.
