Question ID: 391076
For Google searches, how can I get my wedding video web page at the
top of the search for
"Utah Wedding Videos" search on Google? Is there a secret process or
service provider that could assit me? My web site
"yourstorymedia.com" does not even show up when I search. I have
placed meta tags and alt tags with photos. What can I do to make my
page found and found at the top of this search "Utah Wedding Videos"?

Google does not use META tag keywords for indexing. Neither do any of
the other major search engines. However, other META tags are used for
Title and Description. Do you have access to the frame that is
forwarding your domain to the Comcast URL? META tags would have to be
placed in that page/frameset, and NOFRAMES text added, in order to be
effectively indexed by the search engines.

The best the search engines can do at this point is index your Comcast
address, rather than by domain name. In a highly competitve keyword
category, a "private space" page will not be ranked as highly as
domains are, and it is very unlikely to reach the top of even a very
specific four keyword category.

I vaguely remember seeing a long comment the other day which quoted
Google's Webmaster Guidelines in their entirety. In that case, it
would have been a violation of GoogleAnswers Terms of Service, (a
violation of copyright) and would have been removed by the Answers

Tbride --

You'll have to teach the Googlebot to be a mind-reader. The word
"Utah" appears nowhere on your home page: not in the title (you don't
have a title); not in the entry page here:
http://www.yourstorymedia.com/

Best regards,

Clicking on the link as mentioned by omnivorous-ga I do get a page
with the words "Utah Wedding Videos and DVD's", i.e. the link
redirects me to
http://home.comcast.net/~tbride/

You have no metatags. No one will find you. Go to your site and hit
View-Source. Now go to www.VBAExpress.com and hit View-Source. Note
the Metatags content:

<META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="microsoft,office,microsoftoffice,help,support,

Then, get Google Adwords to work for you.
http://adwords.google.com/
It's not very expensive, and gets you listed.
After you've got regular hits coming to your site, you can
(practically) turn off Google Adwords and get the same traffic.

I am not a researcher.

Dear TBride,

All of these advices are true and sound:
Your page doesn't have good keyowrds, metatags, backlinks or anything
else that would cause Google to index you first in the search that you
mentioned.

However, no one could promise you to come up as the first result -
unless you pay for advertisment on the Google results of [Utah Wedding
Videos] (using Adword, as suggested). if any one promises you to be on
the first result, it is probably a hoax: all that could be promised is
good positioning (on the first page, etc.) - but not direc location as
the first result, aside from really obscure terms.
