First research indicates that no company named "Finance Club Inc."
(that is the name the Yahoo address implies) exists anywhere. Maybe
you could provide a bit more background? For example, were these two
addresses part of an e-mail you received? If so, could you post the
text of that mail? The source of these e-mail addresses, whatever it
may be, could prove very helpful for doing research.

Scriptor

There doesn't appear to be any web-based information on a company
using these mailing addresses, but I've sent an inquiry to the
addresses themselves to see if anything will be forthcoming.

Have you already tried this...?

corresponding with them. the original contact came from a job position
which was on www.caterer.com on this website 15th june 2004 with the

krone-ga,

Oh...what a tangled web we weave!

I found some information on FinanceClub for you which I've detailed
below. I hope this will help you in making an informed decision
regarding any dealings you may have with them.

Before rating this answer, please let me know if you would like any
additional information. Just post a Request for Clarification, and
I'll be happy to assist you further.

==========

First off, I did email FinanceClub, although I did not identify Google
Answers or this question as the source of the query, so I don't think
there's any need for concern on that front. I received a prompt reply
from the company:

==========

Re: What is Finance Club?

We are an Italian company that looks for people to help us with our
new distribution chain in U.K. We sell/buy electronic and consumer
products (resellers) and that's why we need people working for/with
us. Your work will consist in reception payment for our goods to the
your bank account and their fast sending in our office or one of his
branches.

we have a website, please look http://www.financehomework.com/

==========

Hmmm. It's a bit hard to know exactly what they're describing.

--An Italian company with a new distribution chain in the UK

--Resellers of electronics and consumer products.

--Need people like me for "reception payment" for goods, using my bank account.

It's that last piece that makes no sense to me. Why would any company
want to desposit THEIR funds in MY bank account....?

Since they provided a website address, that's the next place to check:

http://www.financehomework.com/

Sure enough, even though the URL is "financehomework", the site itself is named:

Finance Club Inc

The description on the site seems pretty different from what they
described in the email:

==========

==========

There are a few specific things I want to point out about their site:

--At the bottom is a notice: "Copyright 2004 Supersellout.com".
Hence, they are connected, in some fashion, to an entity by the (odd)
name of Supersellout.com, just as you indicated in one of your
comments.

--Their "Click Here To Sign Up Now!" opens up an email addressed to:
financeclb@aol.com

--Their "Contact Us" page:

http://www.financehomework.com/contact.htm

also lists the financeclb email address, along with a mailing address:

Universal Publishing
Suite 52
Global House Poyle Road
Colnbrook SL3 0AY, Berkshire
UK

tel./fax: 44-808-208-3414

So, they do appear to operate out of the UK, and they offer a phone
number with which you could contact them, if you so desire.

==========

There are several danger signs on the Finance Club web site, and on
related records. I would urge you to proceed with great caution in
making any sort of commitments with this organization.

First off, I ran a check of their website registration "whois" record at:

http://www.whois.sc/financehomework.com

The whois information does not seem to jive with the other information
obtained thus far.

The registrant for this site is indeed an entity known as "Finance
Club", but they are listed at the address:

Finance club
10111 Charterwood Dr. B302
Houston, TX 77070

The administrative contact for the site is listed as Sang Lee at the
same address in Texas, but with the phone number:

212-937-2209

which is a New York City number (although it could be a portable cell
phone number that has "moved" to Houston).

Also of note...the website was first registered on June 15, 2004.

So...this appears to be a brand new website, with no obvious
connections to any operations in Italy or the UK, and with some sort
of affiliation to supersellout.com and to "Universal Publishing".

==========

Another warning sign is that the financehomework.com displays two
"credibility" icons indicating that they are members of certifying
organizations:

"The World Wide Web Chamber of Commerce--Gold Level Member",

and the

"Internet Trade Bureau--Click to Verify".

Both of these icons should be clickable. That is, you should be able
to click on them and be taken directly to information at these two
organizations regarding FincanceClub. However, neither icon will
accept a click.

Furthermore, in checking the organization directories at:

http://www.webchamber.com/Consumers/Search.asp?Function_fst=BusAlpha&Letter_fst=F

http://www.internettradebureau.com/

neither has a listing for FinanceClub or financehomework.com (and
neither the Web Chamber of Commerce nor the ITB were themselves very
impressive in terms of their professionalism, depth of membership,
etc.).

==========

Yet another warning stems from the fact that there are several other
sites on the web with content that is virtually identical to the
financehomework.com site, among them:

http://workathomeincomeopportunities.com/

Our Mailing Address:
Universal Publishing
2415 San Ramon Valley Blvd. #4420
San Ramon, CA 94583

http://www.supersellout.com

Our Mailing Address:
Universal Publishing
2910 N. Shoreview Place, Tampa, FL 33602

tel./fax:(443) 583-2672
[Note the Florida address, but the non-US telephone number]

http://www.workathomeincomeopportunities.com/index.php

Our Mailing Address:
Universal Publishing
2415 San Ramon Valley Blvd. #4420
San Ramon, CA 94583

and very similar content at:
http://www.workfromhomecenter.com/

Global Work Solutions, LLC
WorkFromHomeCenter.com
1177 Branham Lane #235
San Jose, CA 95118

Universal Publishing shows up repeatedly at different addresses and
phone numbers. The last site also mentions Global Work Solutions,
adding yet another company name to the mix.

==========

I checked with the Better Business Bureau at:

http://search.bbb.org/search.html?advanced=Yes

for the various company names related to this query. FinanceClub
doesn't show up (in either a positive or negative light) but this is
hardly surprising, since it seems to be such a new entity.

The only company that does make an appearance in the BBB database is:

==========

BBB Reliability Report
Global Work Solutions, LLC
1177 Branham Lane #235
San Jose, CA 95118

Membership Status: No
Type-of-Business Classification: Work At Home Companies
Website Address: www.workathomemailprocessors.com

Customer Experience

Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau.

==========

You can see the full record here:

http://www.bbbsilicon.org/commonreport.html?compid=218706

and please take not of the cautionary language towards the bottom of the page:

Work-At-Home Schemes On-Line

Want to make fast cash while working from your home? Click a few keys
and follow the instructions on your computer screen!
Work-at-home-schemes are nothing new but now con artists who touted
scams through newspaper, U.S. mail and telemarketing are using
computers to reach potential victims. They can sit at their keyboard
and reach hundreds of thousands of people, pretty much for free, in a
short period of time. Getting a phony ad or message out is now cheap
and easy.

On-line users need to be careful when browsing the Internet and
responding to unsolicited offers. If an ad seems too good to be true,
it probably is. Talented individuals can use a Web Page to create a
company that looks very legitimate, but just because an ad looks
legitimate on the computer screen, is no reason to assume it is.

I hope this information is what you needed regarding Finance Club. My
advice...proceed with caution, if you decide to proceed at all.

As I said above, let me know if anything is unclear, or if you need anything else.

All the best...
