We have been married for 42 years in Montreal Quebec and we have two
grown up children.  What is a wife entitled to from her husband's
estate after death?

Whatever is given to her via the husbands will.

If your husband has no legal will, the distribution of the goods falls
under public tutelage ("tutelle publique in French).  You can find all
the necessary information on the Ministry of Justice page:

I meant "Curateur public", not "Tutelle publique".
