Hallo reddy!

I think we need to know the program(s) you want to print from and the
operating system you're using.

Bye!

Dear reddy,

I would definitely expect to be able to help you. However, I have
posted this as a clarification rather than an answer just in case you
have an unusual setup. Also, another Google researcher may have the
exact printer and thus be able to offer you more direct help.

The link to the printer manual is:
http://www.hp.com/cposupport/manual_set/bpl10361.pdf

Page 57 says:

"Printing on different paper for the first page of a print job is
available
only with the HP PCL 6 printer driver and the Macintosh LaserWriter
driver."

This should not present a problem, but again it depends upon your
environment.
As with any printing difficulty there are quite a number of
possibilities:

I'll make some assumptions so that we have something to start with...
please "clarify question" to correct me!

1. I'll assume the printer software has been correctly installed and
it is just a matter of finding the setting. {No offense is meant if
this sounds too simple for you... I thought it was a reasonable
starting place with the available information).

2. I'll assume that the printer can successfully print a job to either
of the trays at your selection. Please confirm.

3. I'll assume that you are running Windows and Microsoft Word. Please
confirm the operating system and application.

The operating system does matter, as this may determine where you find
the "other" printer settings.

The most obvious place to change printer settings from Word, would be
file menu, printer setup. However page 53 lists additional
possibilities depending upon the operating system.

Please let us know where you have checked.

Thanks,

If you use MS Word simply open the Page Setup menu under File.

Click on the "paper" tab and you'll see that you can specify where to
print the "First page" and "Other pages".

If Word supports your printer this is the simple way.

If you specify the software you want to use we can probably offer more
help.
