Hi, I'm working on a documentary where a set designer talks about
being inspired by a scary clamp that his dentist was using on him.
Although I don't know what kind of clamp it was, I would like to
license a photo of a dental clamp that looks somewhat formidable. I
need to find an image and a source for the image to be licensed.
Thanks!

This barbaric device was called a "tooth key". The clamp was applied
to the affected tooth and the dentist turned the wooden handle until
the tooth was literally unscrewed from it's socket.

Is this like what you were hoping to find?

Hello redneckmystic-ga,

Here is a current instrument that could easily intimidate:

Searching for antique dental instruments led to assorted forceps in
addition to the Tooth Keys tutuzdad-ga suggested.

My favorite finds among the weird antique instruments are the tonsil
guillotine and the glazed pottery leech jar.
