Question ID: 391990
What are the names of films (with the cowboy actor's name) that were
made pre-1942 that show the cowboy hero actor saying the Pledge of
Allegiance to the flag? I have heard that there is at least one film
with, for example, Roy Rogers or Hopalong Cassidy or some other cowboy
hero from that era performing the Pledge of Allegiance and I am
seeking that film.

Further information reveals that the cowboy might simply be with
children or students (if a classroom scene) who are themselves
reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, or that the cowboy hero is reciting
it with them.

I don't know of any cowboy western films in which the Pledge of
Allegiance is recited, but here you can listen to John Wayne reading
the Pledge:

It is unfortunate that his reading of the Pledge was not pre-1942. In
fact, his reading of the pledge was 1954 or later.

It doesn't surprise me too much that it's difficult to come up with
pre-1942 films with the Pledge in them. I mean, it's hard for me to
think of any more modern films that use it, either. The Pledge, in one
form or another, has been around since at least the 1890s; I think
most people took it for granted...so why include it in a film?

Just my 2 cents.
