There is a part in Catcher in the Rye, where Holden is describing his recurring dream/fantasy. He is in a rye field and there are a bunch of children playing nearby. But there are no adults around. He looks and sees that not too far away, there is a cliff, and he becomes concerned that the children might not see it, and that they could fall off if no one was there to catch them. His ongoing wish is to save them, to be the catcher in the rye. I'm wondering if anyone has ever depicted this image in a painting/drawing, and if so, I'm looking for it online, as an image that I could download and send to somebody. |
