Numerous MLM companies are selling a variety of beverages and products based on their respective ORAC values, "immune-stimulating polysaccharides", the "incredibly potent antioxidant power of xanthones", and almost universally, their supposed ability to strengthen and improve your body's immune system. My question: Is there any scientific and objective way to determine the strength and condition of your immune system? And if there is, could this determination be used to verify the efficacy of ANY of these products? Or is advertising a product's ability to "strengthen your immune system" simply a clever way to avoid ANY scientific challenge or FDA/FTC inquiries? Thank you. Robert Burtis |
