I have 3 parts to my question.

1) What are the most popular gemstones in the world from 1-10 or more
if information is available?

2) What is the average internet sale on jewelry- or loose gemstones
over the internet?

3) What percentage of sales are rings, pendants, bracelets, necklaces?

2.Average spending.

A survey  by MVI?s Jewelry Consumer Opinion Council in 2002 found that
27% intended to buy fine jewelry in 2003. 7% indicated that they would
buy from internet retailers. 50% planned to spend between $50-$300,
26% $1,000-$10,000 and 1% over $10,000. 82% planned to spend under
$300 on gifts for mothers and 81% said they would spend under $200 on
gifts for daughters. 73% would buy for themselves, 35% for mothers,
30% for spouses and 30% for daughters.

Thank you for your most deatailed and lengthly answer.

One point that I maybe should stressed more in the question is that I
am more interested in the colored stone dept. rather than diamonds.

If you can find similar statistics that you found on diamonds, for
colored stones and or colored stone jewelry that would be great.

Either way I will rate it a 5 , is that the highest.
