I see the error vmunix SCSI TAPE: dev = 0xcd2000c0 I/O error during close in the syslog.log file on HP-UX while using Netbackup 4.5 mp5 (using SSO option) for backing up data to the LTO-1 tapes. Because of this I see media write and media position errors (error codes 84 and 86 respectively) and backups fail What does that mean and why is it happening? |

Well I could guess that your tape(s) or drive are corrupt. However, I believe this is more than a $2.00 question. |

I wanted to try out this new service Google was offering and wanted to see what kind of an answer it would give me for 2 bucks. Just as I thought, it turned out to be vague, illogical and mostly useless. If I have to pay more, I might as well get a vendor consultant and get it fixed. Why pay google for a question and answer session about something in the software industry? Thanks for the try. |
