Assuning that you were representing employees during contract negotiations and the company demonstrates it cannot afford the current wage scale without massive layoffs.What would you be willing to do to help the company from going bankrupt?Why would this be in your best interest and the interests of the employees? |

You want to consider upping the price of this question because you are asking two somewhat difficult questions. A researcher may be unwilling to tackle this question at the current price. |

Clearly the union should agree to take a pay cut if this is likely to save the jobs. The employer may however be lying, and have no intention of filing bankrupsey or even making extensive layoffs. If the company is truthful they should agree to an audit by accountants heired by the Union. A free independent audit would have considerable value to a corporation that had little to hide. Neil |
