Please find resources for learning at least some basics of the Kenyan
language Kimura. Books, tapes, etc. are all fine, as would be web
pages.

Are you certain about the name of the langage? Kimura is not among the
languages of Kenya in this list:

'Kimeru' is an alternate name for the language Meru. Could this be the
language that you want to learn?

My recollection (from the info packet of a child we've just started
sponsoring) was off - you're correct, Kimeru.

Please excuse the misspelling of the word 'language' as "langage' in
my remark above. My typing skills are not up to par today (nor,
apparently, are my proofreading skills).

If I can misspell my Q, you may certainly make a typo in the answer!

I believe you're correct - Kimeru.

Some info for you:

"Language: Meru (or Kimeru), which bears close resemblance to both
Kikuyu and Kamba. Dialects include Imenti, Igembe, Tigania, Miutini,
Igoji, and Mwimbi-Muthambi (two related dialects). The Imenti dialect
appears to be dominant."

I have not been able to find any tutorials on the Kimeru (Meru)
language. Here's a bit of info about the language:

This service looks as if it might be worth investigating:

Pinkfreud -

 - thanks for the two links. The first I had seen (and the bible
apppears to be the only book readily available in Kimeru, thus far!);
the second would bee great but, alas, no Kimeru speakers.

Tar Heel (I went to grad school at UVa, but I'll forgive you ;) ) -
thanks also for your link, which I had not previously seen and which
has some helpful info on Kenya (if not the language).
