I would like the phrase "Rittimondo daigaku no iti nensee desu"
translated please. I have seen it and would like to know what it
means. I have tried on my own just for a little bit using free online
language translators but they don't seem to work. I cannot tell what
language it is, or even if it is a language. This is not a homework
or exam question, it is for my own knowledge and benefit. Please
translate/decode this and tell me what it means, Thanks!!

This appears to be Romaji, a translation of Japanese to Roman
characters (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romaji)

From http://www.solon.org/cgi-bin/j-e/dict:

daigaku = university
iti = ichi? = one
nensee = nensei? = ... year of school or university or student in ... year
desu = death?

Hopefully this is a start, although it might be somewhat wrong.

'Rittimondo' is 'Richmond', according to this site:
