Napapijri uses the Norwegian flag as its logo. The flag also appears on many Napapijri garments. "NAPAPIJRI, pronounced with a silent 'J', means Artic Polar Circle in Finnish Language. Napapijri is also the name of a small village located on the Polar Circle. NORWEGIAN FLAG: The Norwegian flag appears on many of the garments as a tribute to the Norwegian explorers that first traveled to Polar Regions by foot and by dog sled over 100 years ago. Permission to use the Norwegian flag as a Napapijri logo was happily granted by the King of Norway, Harald the 5th." Napapijri USA http://www.napapijriusa.com/about.html Google Web Search: napapijri logo flag ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=napapijri+logo+flag I hope this is precisely the information you're looking for. Napapijri is just one of several clothing manufacturers that use a Norwegian flag as a part of their logo, both on their products and in advertising. Both Devold (http://www.devold.no/Outdoor/English/Heritage.asp) and Dale (http://www.dale.no/dale/don/home.nsf/frameset/sport_main2?opendocument) put a small embroidered patch on their sweaters and hats - this patch carries a Norwegian flag and their brand name. There are several others using the flag in a similar matter. |
