I'd like to find out more about a Spanish song I'm fond of. Lyrics appear at http://www.mexicolindo.org.mx/cancion_mexicana/tradicional/cancion_mixteca.htm I'm wondering things like when it was written, who the author was (beyond just his name), where it is sung these days, and where I might find a recording or guitar chords. Those are just some ideas; any information about this song would be interesting to me. My Spanish is pretty bad, so unfortunately web sites in Spanish will not be helpful. (No need to translate the song lyrics, though--I already have.) |

Hello, The following travelogue explains the history of the song: <http://www.timsparks.com/mexico.html>. The sheet music is available at (http://www.timsparks.com/pdfs/cancion_mixteca.pdf) and chords at (http://webs.demasiado.com/lavoz_mexico/page14.html). The song appears on the album Zing Zang by the duo Ramsey & Vann (http://www.fmp.com/netivaan/zingzang.html) and on the album Amar y Vivir by the Trio Veracruz (http://www.trioveracruz.com/discos.htm). Enjoy. | |

Excellent answer containing all the info I could possibly want. Sorry it took so long to rate--I made the mistake of asking the question right before a move across several states! |
