This question is an attempt to see how many notices are sent by GA
regarding requests for clarification and comments. Feel free to
answer with some drivel while I add clarification requests and
comments and answer clarifications to see what happens.

Incidentally, I wasn't notified at all when my recent answer was
answered, nor when it was commented on or clarified. I wonder whether
this will be any different?

What the heck happens when a answer clarification is requested. Does
teh researcher get a notice?? Does the customer get a notice when the
clarification is posted?? Does the customer get a notice when a
comment is posted?? We may find out...I know the researcher does not
get a notice when a comment is posted to a question they have
answered....right...we'll see...

It certainly used to be the case that researchers were notified after
a clarification request. It hasn't happened for a while now, as far as
I can remember.

This test resulted in full information being provided by GA to my
email whenever a answer clarification or comment was posted....except
for the last one posted by grimace which comment I was NOT notified
of....and...I notice that some other questions where I have provided
an answer did not result in a notice to my email when a request for
clarification was made. It appears there is a bug in this
system...that needs some attention by the googleys.....I'll send
information to them in the form of an email. I do not intend to ask
for a refund on this question and repost....

While you're doing this, seedy, you might also want to check on how
the reposting and rejecting systems operate.

According to the Helps & Tips:

"To request a refund, you'll need the question ID number for the
answer that is unsatisfactory. Go to "My Account" and select "Answered
Questions." Choose the question for which you would like a refund. You
can see the ID number in the right side of the window. While keeping
this window open, launch a second window in your browser (Ctrl+N in
Internet Explorer). Type or paste the ID number into the "Question ID"
space on the refund page. Please supply the reason for your request -
your refund cannot be processed without this explanation. The reason
will be posted on the site along with the question and answer since
this will provide useful information to other users."

I wasn't actively looking, but I never saw a link to a 'refund page'
when my question was answered. Do you see one anywhere?

At this point, grimace, I only see an ability to rate the
answer....but I'll look later in the day when I return from playing
golf...seedy

How odd! I wonder why I never had any notification...

I have 'Notify me whenever there is activity with my questions' in my profile.
