I found two dozen tech support sites referencing 'searching.net'. There
is an annoying popup dialog in IE asking to switch your homepage to it
whenever you depart from the site.

Apparently many domain names that are one or more letters off another
popular, similar domain name direct users to a search mirror of
searching.net. In my case, I found it in an attempt to join
wilwheaton.net. I mistyped wilwheaton.com, and landed in the website
of an anti-Google 'evildoer'.

My novice whois researching led me to link 'MONIKER ONLINE SERVICES,
INC.' to searching.net. www.moniker.com is located in Florida:
20 SW 27th Ave. Suite 201
Pompano Beach, Florida 33069

How can they be stopped? I have come up with the following:
1) Sue on an individual website basis.
2) Press for congressional legislation to severely punish similar 'evildoers'
3) Detail their efforts in forums like this to spread the knowledge.
4) Use the Better Business Bureau (they're currently listed as 'satisfactory')
5) Call the company and ask them to stop.
Here is my question:
What is the best course of action to balance the world's domain name karma?
Please analyze my above ideas, and suggest other alternatives.
Thank you for your time. Don't be evil.

Perhaps I should have added
6) Contact the FTC (linked to from http://toolbar.google.com/popup_help.html)

Another whois search implies that moniker.com just registered
wilwheaton.com for 'ultsearch.com',
