Dear kaznow-ga:

Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting
question. I cannot be certain of course because I cannot accuse
someone of doing something when I do not know them or anything about
them. Oddly enough though, according to this site, which hosts an
internet based warning about foreign bride and marriage scams, your
suspicions do appear at least to be confirmed:

?Marriage Agency Scams? does indeed list a woman (or possibly more
than one woman) who has been reported to use the name ?Irina Sahno?,
Irina Sergeeva and ?Irina Sergeevna Sahno? in order to take advantage
of unsuspecting men in dating or bridal scams. Here are some photos of
people who are reportedly acting as Sanho but of course, as with many
scams of this kind, these pictures may not look anything like the
actual person:

There are also a number of known scam artists using the name (real or
not) Vladimirovna and Svetlana

MARRIAGE AGENCY SCAMS: NAMES
http://agencyscams.com/Names.htm

You will also find Sanho listed on this site as a person to potentially avoid:

SCAM ALERT

It may be a good thing that you began asking around before getting too
involved with these women, particularly if it turns out that they are
the same individuals mentioned on these scam alert sites.

Below you will find that I have carefully defined my search strategy
for you in the event that you need to search for more information. By
following the same type of searches that I did you may be able to
enhance the research I have provided even further. I hope you find
that my research exceeds your expectations. If you have any questions
about my research please post a clarification request prior to rating
the answer. Otherwise, I welcome your rating and your final comments
and I look forward to working with you again in the near future. Thank
you for bringing your question to us.

I had no way of knowing what sources you have already checked but was
limited only to the information you provided. I answered your question
based on what you asked at the time you asked it.

I?ve not found anything on the second woman. It is entirely possible
that she is legitimate but I suspect that if you met the second woman
using the same source she should be treated with suspicion.

I have however located more information about the woman using the name
?Sahno?. The photograph here seems to be different from the ones
earlier leading me to believe that none of the photos probably show
the actual woman. In fact, I suspect the ?actual? woman does not exist
at all but is merely an assumed name for some anonymous scammer.

STOP SCAMMERS: IRINA SAHNO
http://www.stopscammers.com/profile.asp?profile=450

There are no women in this particular database using the name Vladimirovna
Svetlana Zelentsove but there are numerous women using the name
?Svetlana? and ?Vladimirovna? to operate their scams, almost all of
which are also using a variety of other names as well, frequently
changing their names to avoid detection:

STOP SCAMMERS: SVETLANA

SCAMS ON THE INTERNET
http://www.womenrussia.com/blackpage96.htm

The bottom line is we cannot confirm that Vladimirovna Svetlana
Zelentsove is a legitimate person with legitimate interests but
neither can we confirm that she is an actual person nor someone who is
trying to take advantage of you. Then again, it may be that this
particular person is a new name or even a new individual involved in
this type of illicit activity. Typically these women offer some type
of story about their urgency for money (travel, medical emergency,
etc) or profess their desire to have a romantic encounter if you will
send them the money needed to travel to your location. Some even send
a bill and try to make you make you pay them just for having
correspondence with them. Of course, any money sent to them always
disappears along with the women who received it.

Many of these ?ladies?? emails are canned. In other words, they are
rehearsed and are often identical to other known emails from known
scammers. You can compare your messages from your ?lady? to other
known emails found on some of the scam alert sites which should give
you an indication as to their authenticity. If you notice anything in
the emails that is similar in wording to other known email messages,
you?d be wise to count your blessings that you too were not scammed,
and simply move on (or report them).

Thank you Tutuzdzd-ga!!! I appreciate your work and the information.
I have meet Ireina Sahno several times in person.,,,,,so I know she
is a real person. I just have the feeling this is all part of her
scam.

Would you know of a good Russian Detective or information sources that
could dig deeper??

Thanks,

Kurt

Strange that you would mention that. There is actually a paid service
that verfies Russian "brides" and does background checks on these
types of people to make sure they are not scamming innocent people.
The name of the service happens to be called RUSSIAN DETECTIVE.

You can use their services here.

RUSSIAN DETECTIVE
http://www.russian-detective.com/

Here is a list of where some of their many detectives are located:

......

Another investigative detective agency is called DETECTIVE RUSSIA. You
can find them here:
http://www.detective-russia.com/

......

Finally, BEOWULF DETECTIVE AGENCY, INC. is a professional detective
agency based in Moscow, Russia.

http://www.private-detective-agency.com/index.htm

These agencies purport to offer a variety of background services and
each claim they can determine if your "friend" is legitimate.
