individual event. However, she did compete in the 4 x 400m relay.

i know that already which is why i asked the question. i wanted more
information on why she did not compete, as i couldn't find any
announcement from the hellenic olympic committee.

You asked: if she was part of the team, why did she not compete? I
answered, she was part of the team and *did compete*, in the relay;
*no member of the team competed in the individual 400m*.
As you probably know, only a limited number of participants are
allowed to compete in each event. Otherwise, all 202 nations could
enter participants in each track and field event, and the events would
take months! Presumably, the Greek team members did not meet the
qualifying standard for the 400m individual event, though they did
meet the standard as a team for the relay.

yes, but she was entered for the event. she was selected by the greek
team to represent in this event, at the start of the games. at some
point between the start of the games and the heats taking place she
"disappeared" from the event, and i would like to know why.
the reason i would like to know why, is because a rather famous DJ
from Great Britain (Nemone Metaxas) was attempting to represent the
greek team in this event, but failed to make the qualifying time, so
the place went to Goudenoudi. And now it seems that Goudenoudi failed
to run either.
telling me she doesn't appear in the heats is not relevant. the whole
world knows that.... she's not listed in the data of people that ran
the heats. however, if she met the qualifying time and was selected
by the greek team to be an entrant for this event, why did she not run
in it?

You have included a lot of information in your requests for
clarification that are not in your question. (The "whole world"
doesn't know that Hrisoula Goudenoudi didn't compete in the individual
400m -- most of the world doesn't know who she is!)
If there's one thing I've learned on Google Answers, it's that you
can't assume that everyone knows what you know.
In any case, I cannot find a reason why Goudenoudi did not compete in
the individual 400m. If you would like, I will ask the Google Answers
editors to withdraw my answer.
