I am looking for a German-speaking movie called "Amundsen Der Penguin". One of the stars of this movie is Till Lindemann, singer of the band Rammstein. He plays a character named Victor. The movie was shot in Iceland. I think it was a made for tv movie but I would like to find out if there is any way of aquiring this film. If someone could help me then I will be ETERNALLY greatful. Thanx for your time. Carmen.xoxoxo |

First the bad news: The movie has been produced for german TV last year (broadcast on dec. 25th) and is not available (commercially) on DVD or VHS at present. The producers do not have any information about the availability in the future. Now for the very good news: I did several telephone calls here in Germany and found a solution to get a copy of the movie for you. The brodcasting TV company in Cologne sells copies of their program and the film is available for ? 50,50 (plus shipping) on DVD or VHS Video at the following address: Westdeutscher Rundfunk Zentrale Aufgaben Fernsehen Mitschnittservice 50600 Köln E-Mail: mitschnittservice@wdr.de Fax: (0221) 220 80 41 I called them by phone, they are prepared to send this movie to you in the USA if you pay the shipping. Please be aware that Europe has other another video format than the USA, if you are in the USA you will need a DVD or VHS player that can play this European format. It´s called PAL. Here in Europe many DVD players and VHS systems can play both. I hope this solves your problem. Please post a clarification request if anything should still be unclear. till-ga Search strategy: Searching Amazon.de and ebay.de was not successful. I phoned the production company bavaria, then some video distributors and finally the Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln. |

I want to thank till-ga immensely for their help in finding the movie I was looking for. I will try what you have suggested and let you know how it turns out. By the way, I don't live in the U.S., I live in S. Wales in the U.K. I do have a multi-region dvd player and vhs machine that play just about eveything as I have alot of movies from Canada( where I was born)and the U.S. Thanks again for the help and let's pray that it works out in the end. Hi, Carmen I would have thought that whatever format the DVD or VHS video uses then a conversion to whatever you use (wherever you are) would be possible. I'm in the UK and, as Till advises, my VHS equipment can play NTSC and record and play PAL. However, my domestic VHS equipment would not allow me to record in NTSC. But my DVD equipment is Multi-Region, so I can play anything. (Multi-Region DVD players are dirt cheap in the UK, even if you can't get one where you live.) Worth checking further. Good luck! Bryan |

Ups. I should not have assumed you live in the US. I´m sure you will get the movie, the Westdeutscher Rundfunk is a rather big and very reliable company. In case you should have any problems please post again. They said it might take up to four weeks for the delivery after an order. Thank you very much for the excellent rating and of course for the generous tip. till-ga |
