Ok, here's the magical question: let's say you're learning a new
language. Spanish, Japanese whatever. I know there is an amount of
words. Let's say 800. After which you flip. You can begin to learn the
language a lot quicker. You kinda have reached the point of no return.
My question is: do you know what is this specific number (or range)
and what they are? What are the specific words?

Thanks!

I've done some research on this, and to read "The Wonderful Wizard of
Oz" in English, with some help, you would have to know about 3000-4000
words. I wrote a program in PHP to determine the most used words in
any text, even as long as a book, however, it's not needed. There is
an easier way to learn a language.

Step 1: Find a news source (or blog)in the language you want to learn.
A google search for +blog (or +news) and +language should do the
trick. Read as much as you can until you find a word you don't know
the meaning of and look it up. Do this everyday.

Step 2: Download paltalk (www.paltalk.com, its free) and find a voice
chat room in distance learning that practices your language. The
people are friendly, helpful and usually either native speakers or
learners like yourself. Here you will learn to pronounce what you've
learned in step 1.
