We are a vitamin and supplement online retailer who has been in
business for two years.  We have been steadily increasing the sales
mainly through search engines, search engine placement ads and word of
mouth advertising.  About 95% of the orders are web orders and the
rest are placed via telephone.  However, 80% of the total orders are
ONE TIME orders and most of those were placed via online.  We offer
lower prices on most of the popular products compared to many of our
competitors.  We have been monitoring the conversion rate between
browsers and cart to orders.  To increase the repeat business and
increase the conversion rate, we have recently introduced various
steps such as Frequent Buyer Program, catalog distribution with
orders, streamlined online steps to reorder, reduced steps,
streamlined shopping cart, telephone follow-up, etc.  According to
some of the research, top online retailers are doing anywhere from
45-65% of repeat business.

What are some of the other proven strategies and tactics that we can
take now to increase our repeat orders while reducing our customer
acquisition cost?  Please provide us with practical steps that can be
implemented easily.
