I use a Mac powerbook G4, usually closed, with an external apple
display (one that originally came with a desktop G3). It used to
happen occasionally, now all the time, that after the powerbook wakes
up from sleeping the display settings for the display have reverted
VGA settings. To fix this I bring up the System Prefernces -> Displays
and click on the "Detect Displays" button. Then it goes back to my
prefered settings (1280 X 1240, 75 Hz). Another side effect: after I
fix the screen resolution my custom desktop picture is not restored
and I just get a light blue background. Question: how can I fix this,
i.e. I want my computer to remember the resolution and desktop picture
that I previously set upon waking. Other info: running Mac OSX 10.2.8,
memory 512 MB, Processor: 1GHz PowerPC G4. Only other harware attached
is external keyboard and mouse. Not running any unusual apps (Eudora,
Safari, Acrobat, etc.). |
