Hi garit-ga,
I came across this forum thread about Spyware/Malware and Outlook Express:
http://forums.infomaticsonline.co.uk/thread.jsp?forum=2&thread=32084
If you don't have Ad-Aware or Spybot installed, I suggest you download
and install those programs
to as a possible solution for being able to search newsgroups with Outlook express.
Otherwise, please run Ad-Aware and Spybot and tell me if that fixes your problem.
Ad-Aware (URL: http://www.lavasoft.de/)
Spybot (URL: http://www.safer-networking.org/)
Hope to hear from you soon.

I installed ad-aware and ran it. I deleted anything it found. The
problem still exists.

I downloaded thunderbird and yes I can enter a keyword and it will
find all the newsgroups that conatin that word. That is what Outlook
Express did until I developed this problem on this machine. On my
laptop, it works fine.

I never had tried that. I thought that it really doesn't get
uninstalled, just reconfigured not to show. However, I tried it and it
worked! Thanks for all your help.
