I have an antique print. It comes with a Beautiful gold color wood frame. The frame has an attached small metal plate on the front bottom, that says "The Water Boy" although when researching the picture,it is not, like the waterboy that is by Duveneck. This one is of a boy walking down a path wearing overalls and shirt a straw hat and has a handmade fishing pole over one shoulder and carrying a straw basket in the other hand. He has bare feet. The Picture is mostly dark colors with the boy very clear and the background sort of faded out. It is 16 1/2 x 12 1/2. The back of the frame is intirely covered with a yellowed paper. It cannot come off, unless I cut it. (To look for a signature)This is the only way you would know the picture belonged to the frame. Also written on the top of the back are the Beautifully handwritte words: "To Edwin (or Edevin) E. Blackburn 3rd from Grandma Blackburn Christmas 1938" If anyone has any information about this picture it would be greatly apprieciated. |
