My Grandfather came from a town/village in Hungary in 1898 called
"Nazy Saros", (his spelling). It may be in Western Hungary. I would
like to know the location of the village?

Thanks for your question.

The pronounciation "Nazy Saros" may be actually be closer to
"Nagy-saros". You can search for this place name at Expedia.Com:

  Find a Map

Go to "Find A Map" and use the following search terms:

"Nagy-saros, Hungary" (use the comma, but not the quotation marks]

You will get a set of "Best Matches" which include several likely
place names:

  [Town, District, Country]

  Nagysárostó, Baranya, Hungary
  Nagykorös, Pest, Hungary
  Nagyostoros, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemblén, Hungary
  Nagy Szakási [Nagyszakácsi], Somogy, Hungary
  Nagytarcsa, Pest, Hungary

"Nagyostoros, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemblén, Hungary" seems closest to your
original pronounciation. Click on this result in the "Best Matches"
list to select it, then click the "Find A Map" button at the bottom of
the page to generate a map with the place name highlighted.

Select the "Large" view in the drop-down menu at the bottom right of
the map. To move around the map, use the "Zoom Level" and "Map Mover"
controls on the top right. Note that you can also click anywhere on
the map to recenter the view.

You will see that "Nagyostoros" is actually in northeastern Hungary,
about 200km northeast of the capital Budapest and 20km west of the
city of Miskolc.
