Have just returned from Yosemite. I ate at the Awahnee and saw their
logo or symbol. Asked a number of people that worked there what the
symbol or logo meant, stood for, represented or depicted. I never did
get an answer. Would be interested in knowing.

Thank you for a very interesting question.

Triskelion......hmmh---maybe that's what the Ahwahnee symbol is.
Supposedly it implies an Indian running so fast it seems he has 3
feet.

Very interesting. I am somewhat confused. The logo shown at the
following site is the one I am interested in. The logo used elsewhere
such as on china, etc. is quite a bit different.

Hi zimlr,

I understand your confusion, but I did call the hotel and spoke with
the concierge. She and I both were on the exact page link indicating
the picture of the logo.

http://www.yosemitepark.com/buyTheGear2col.cfm?SectionID=23&PageID=525

This is the same link I provided in my answer which is the second link
and the same link you posted in your clarification.

I asked her if this is the same logo appearing throughout the hotel on
sheets, china, coasters, walls, etc.

It is, and it's called "Three legged rocking man" or "Three legged
man" or "Three legged indian". They have many people who inquire
about the symbol.

The design on plates, sheets, coasters, etc., are a simplified
reduction of the original symbol. It's the same design of the main
logo which was designed by Jeannette Dyer-Spencer in 1927.

You might call it 'artistic license' with all the different
renditions, but it is the main logo and was adopted by the Hotel and
their main logo.

I hope this helps!
