Hi, I need information on data quality - the practice of capturing
data on consumers (verifying, correcting and enhancing contact
information in every channel) for on-time marketing. What are the
industry trends, who's doing what (retailers who are currently
involved in this practice and what they're doing), and the different
products available that offer solutions (i.e. Harte-Hanks' ADQ, First
Logic's IQ8 Integration Studio). Please focus on Retail. I need
deliverable by tomorrow, Wed 9-01.

Allow me to clarify the term "data quality"...my original question
stated that it was the practice of capturing data when I meant to say
the practice of IMPROVING the data quality you already have.

Harte-Hanks have a product called Trillium to which you may be
alluding; its a high-powered matcher and is user-customisable, but
requires training (run by the company). It comes with periodic
upgrades and support from the company, though that may be charged
pro-rata.

The alternative to doing it yourself is to out-source it. Customer
data provider Dun & Bradstreet will not only provide data for specific
purposes or categories, they will also undertake matching projects for
you, looking to take your incomplete or out-dated data and match it to
fuller and newer records
