In January 1945, the only US Army M26 Pershing Tank lost during the
war was destroyed near Colonne, Germany. The M26 was penatrated by an
88 mm anti-tank round from a German Nashorn Tank Destroyer. I have
seen a photo of the detroyed M26 using Google search engine. Can you
find that photo and /or the web site?

Dear victor61,

The only M26 Pershing that became a total loss in the European theater
of war was actually destroyed by a Nashorn Panzerjäger on 6 March 1945
in Niehl, north of Cologne. An January date is impossible, since the
Allied troops were not yet anywhere near Cologne in January 1945.
