Question ID: 395197
I have a Pocket PC, with Win CE, which connects to my computer (Win
XP) via USB, with ActiveSync 3.7.1. I use Eudora as my email prog of
choice, and Firefox as my browser.

And here's what happens: When (I think) Firefox starts, it replaces
the file mapi32.dll with a different version of the same file (and
renames it MAPI32.000). This makes the PC unable to sync with the
pocket PC. I can fix it by deleting the new MAPI32, and renaming the
old one back. Then stopping and restarting ActiveSync. But this is a
bit dull. Is there any way around this? I can't be the only person
with this problem.

I have found some references on the web to Netscape 4.7, and a way
around it, but nothing more recent.

Thanks.

Oh, I should say I have tried setting mapi32.dll to be read only. That
doesn't work (it just seems to make the mapi32.000 file read only).
