I own a web site called storesupplies.com. I am trying to write an information page about cash register paper. One of the big concerns of using different types of paper is the lint or dust that remains in the machine, thereby causing jams. I am looking for a short few paragraph description of the different factors that contribute to paper lint.... |

Hi,
My name is Derek hooper of www.cashregistergroup.com
I have been repairing cash register equipment since the late 1980`s.
Usually Casio, sharp and samsung manufacturered machines.
Paper dust is usually caused by a low quality paper. This is
generally a non bleached wood pulp that has been recycled to cut down
the cost of the materials.
Another cause of paper dust is a length of paper that has been cut
with a blunt blade thus causing a feather type edge that allows the
paper to fall apart at the seams.
A quick check to see if a paper roll is of high quality, is to bang
the roll on to a table and check if any debris falls off the roll.A
high quality roll will always have the smallest amount.
My past experience of curing this problem of paper dust is to always
recommend a grade A quality paper that has bleached and cut to highest
specification with the best tools.
My other recommendation is to keep the printer clean and dust free. The
easy way is to use a vacuum cleaner and clean the moving parts often. |
