The answer to this question should provide either a link to a product in an online store matching my question, or contact information for a store that sells such a product. Preferably, the stores should be able to ship to Canada. I am looking for a special kind of CompactFlash card. The card would appear to be a normal compactFlash card, except would not actually contain any memory. Instead, a wire leading out of the card would be inserted into your computer's USB port. When the card is both in your camera and plugged into your computer, photos taken with the camera are immediatly saved onto the computer. No special hardware on the camera side is required, just this device. I'm hoping such a device exists. It would allow someone to take many photos while connected to their laptop, and immediatly view them on the high-res screen, instead of having to transfer them manually afterwards. Good luck! |

I think that what you are describing is a PCMCIA to USB convertor The 'Flash Card' looks like a Type II PCMCIA card, but it really contains a USB convertor (typically a two port hub) One model is the Belkin Cardbus F5U022 You can find them on EBay for $19.99 + $8 p&p (BuyItNow) |

Huh? I appreciate your help, frde-ga, but did you even read my question? I'm not looking to add USB ports to my laptop. A Type II PCMCIA card is of no use to me. Neither end of this card is compatible with CompactFlash, nor would it fit into my camera. |

I completely misunderstood what you were after Actually I was a bit tired What you seem to want is a 'fake RAM card' to plug into your /camera/ that then connects to the USB on your PC - interesting. |
