Thanks for asking.

Google has had a problem with the display of backlinks for some time.
This discrepancy has been noted in many previous Answers, as well as
in forums, webwide. It has generally been considered to be "fixed",
but I've seen it crop up recently for a number of other sites. There
are a number of specialized searches which will also locate
backlinkage.

link:http://www.electricservice.com [0 links]

link: http://www.electricservice.com [11 links]

link: electricservice.com [16 links]

"electricservice.com" -site:http://www.electricservice.com [234 links]

"electricservice.+com" [236 links]

Whether shown in the tool bar and special searches or not, it is
widely believed that all inbound links are used when calculating
PageRank. Historically, until recently, sites with less than PR4 were
not displayed in any of the backlinks searches. That's changed over
the past couple of months, with even some PR0 sites showing up in some
backlink searches.

More than links, however, there appears to be a rather serious problem
-- duplicate content. While electricalservice.com does not appear to
be indexed (i.e. "Google has no information on this site"), identical
homepage content -is- indexed under elscotransformers.com. Neither
site appears within the top 1,000 positons for any of several
applicable keyword phrases including: electrical power transformers,
electrical transformers, as well as regional
keywords(http://www.googlerankings.com). I would consider this a
rather considerable penalty, because your website is well-constructed,
and on topic for recognition within those keywords, and key phrases.

Google's Guidelines (://www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html)address
this issue: Specific recommendations: "Don't create multiple pages,
subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content." Google
owns several patents for methods of determining duplicate content.

Are you transitioning between domain names, by chance? This would
certainly account for what I'm seeing as duplicate content. If this is
the case, then there might be other "known issues" which could affect
site indexing. Any information you can offer regarding website history
could be helpful.

Important Linkage
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Open Directory Project (ODP)
----------------------------

This is very important linkage. You may submit your listing to more
than one category. Make an additional submission requesting a listing
in the Transformers Category.

Business.com
------------

Expand your Business.com listing. Currently the site is only listed
under Transformer Repair. The Power Transformers, or Transformers and
Inductors categories would seem to be a good match.

Yahoo Directory
---------------

Seek an additional, non-regional listing in the Yahoo Directory. This
is a very valuable link.

scheme of things, take a look at this Search Engine Relationship

How Stuff Works
---------------

You might consider a contribution of a "How Transformers Work" type of
article to How Stuff Works. A number of articles have been accepted
from outside experts. This can provide excellent company and topic
specific exposure.

As I drilled down further through my results, seeking additional
directories for listing, I began to encounter the "link exchanges" and
paid inclusion links. Though no specific entities are listed by
Google, this type of activity, and indeed, buying links, has hit the
top of the "don'ts" list in recent updates. PR sellers have been
identified, and sites utilizing that type of linkage are penalized or
banned from Google's listings. I certainly don't want to lead you into
any problem neighborhoods.

I primarily looked for "engineering directories", "construction
directories" and "electrical directories". If you could suggest
related keywords and keyphrases that your customer base would likely
look under, I'd be glad to look further for additional link
possibilities.

One note. You might try find a synonym for the word "disaster" used on
your front page. Based upon my reading across the web, Google could
well consider this "sensitive content". Such a big part of the
indexing algorithms depend on contextual sensitivity.

I hope you find this information helpful. Should you have questions
about the information or links provided, please, feel free to ask for
clarification.
