Dear justfranc-ga Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting question. Having worked in a lab now for many years (in law enforcement) I can easily explain this confusing code for you: 38855N SAP 10-50+MDMA W/NIT is a urinalysis test for the presence of drugs commonly used for pre-employment, post-accident or random testing purposes by employers. The ?38855N? is merely the lab testing code that means little to you, the test party, in terms of the test. ?SAP-10? (the most common drug screening test) is a ?Substance Abuse Panel? or drug screening for 10 different substances including: Amphetamines Barbiturates Benzodiazepines (ValiumŽ) Cocaine Marijuana Methadone Methaqualone Opiates (Codeine) Phencyclidine Propoxyphene (DarvonŽ) The ?50? refers to the 50ng/ml cutoff level for the drugs being tested for. Cut-off level and detection limit are two factors influencing a test?s sensitivity. Cut-off level refers to the concentration of a drug necessary to indicate a positive reading on the test. The ?detection limit? of the test is the concentration below which a particular drug is undetectable by the method used. ?W/Nit? refers to an additional nitrite test to determine if the specimen has been potentially adulterated with chemicals, supplements or additives in an attempt to tamper of interfere with test results. ?+MDMA? means a secondary test is requested for the presence of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy). So there you have it. That?s what a ?38855N SAP 10-50+MDMA W/NIT? is. The best way to beat this test is to refrain from using these illegal drugs. Below you will find that I have carefully defined my search strategy for you in the event that you need to search for more information.
