About a year ago, I emailed Amatai about two pieces he gave Queen
Noor. One is a dove of peace (which I have); I have been trying to
reach him as he also mentioned a brooch.......and no response. It was
very beautiful but hard to see in his gallery where she is wearing it.
Can you find out which one it is? I think is is about $2200 or
so......Thanks, Mary Shawn |

Dear mcow,
You mean the brooch Queen Noor is wearing on this photo? (The left
one, not the big one with the coat-of-arms of Jordan on the right
side)
http://www.amitaikav.com/site/Images/about_nor.jpg
None of the booches on Amitai Kav's website even vaguely resembles
that one. Therefore, I suppose that Queen Noor's brooch is an
individual item.
Nevertheless, I hope that one of my colleagues can prove me wrong and
provide you information on that particular brooch.

Or is it rather the brooch Queen Noor is wearing in these two photos
you have in mind?

Unfortunately, the two images I mentioned above are not available
anymore. But I can describe the brooch: A flying dove or a very
similar bird, with wide-spread wings, with something in the pecker
that might be a chain with something on it. The brooch seems to be
made of gold with gems or enamel.
Does that describe the brooch you have in mind?

It's the one on the left......and he had one for sale not that long
ago....because at the time I purchased the dove pin, he responded one
of the brooches was hers. But you are right; perhaps he sold out of
it. I don't know and he isn't responding as he usually does. Thank
you for your help though; let's see if someone can find out......or
get ahold of him to answer.

I am going to do the following: I will use special software to enlarge
the part of the image that shows the brooch. I don't know yet if that
will be helpful since the photo has a low resolution and even
enlarging won't reveal much detail - but it's worth trying.
At the moment, I don't think that the brooch on the photo is identical
with that on the start page of the website. I will let you know what
the results of my efforts are

Dear mcow,
Exciting news! Amitai Kav is currently in the USA, and he has provided
me his business cell phone number to call and ask him in person.
Unfortunately, I am located in Europe, therefore calling him is not an
option for me. But I give you the telephone number, so you can call
him: 917-756-6683
I hope that this will be useful for you!

Dear Mary Shawn,
In addition to his US cell phone number I mentioned above
(917-756-6683), Amitai Kav just sent me a second e-mail I will quote
in full for you:
"Thank you for your e-mail.i designed a special pin for queen Nur. it
is a version of the pin P4 in my website: www.amitaikav.com. if i can
be any help please let me know.
yours,
amitai kav"
So this is the answer to your question: The brooch Queen Noor is
wearing on the photo on Amitai Kav's website is a special version of
this brooch:
http://www.amitaikav.com/site/brooch4.html
Does this answer your question to your satisfaction? Please let me know.
